In June, the Microlife team participated in a professional conference organized by the All-Ukrainian Association of Cardiologists of Ukraine. The event brought together cardiologists, family doctors, and specialists who work daily with patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases and arterial hypertension.
At the Microlife booth, conference participants had the opportunity to explore the latest blood pressure monitor models, test the devices, and receive consultations on modern blood pressure control technologies.
Atrial Fibrillation Screening During Blood Pressure Measurement

Participants paid special attention to the presentation by Dmytro Bilyi on the topic: “Screening for Atrial Fibrillation During Blood Pressure Measurement — A New Standard or an Additional Option?”
The presentation examined the possibilities of integrating atrial fibrillation screening into the routine process of blood pressure measurement using AFIB technology, which is implemented in Microlife blood pressure monitors.
Modern clinical practice requires simple and effective tools for the early detection of heart rhythm disorders. This is why AFIB technology is attracting increasing attention from the medical community.
Why It Is Important to Detect Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common heart rhythm disorders worldwide. The danger of this condition lies in the fact that it often proceeds asymptomatically and can remain undetected for a long time.
At the same time, atrial fibrillation significantly increases the risk of ischemic stroke, heart failure, and other serious cardiovascular complications.
Therefore, early screening for atrial fibrillation is one of the key areas of modern cardiology and preventive medicine.
Ukrainian Study of Microlife AFIB Technology
The conference presented the results of a Ukrainian study of AFIB technology used in Microlife blood pressure monitors.
The results showed:
- 96,4% of atrial fibrillation cases were correctly detected compared to electrocardiography (ECG);
- Blood pressure measurement accuracy was 95%.

The obtained data confirm the high effectiveness of AFIB technology for screening rhythm disorders during routine blood pressure measurement.
In fact, every blood pressure measurement can become an additional opportunity for early detection of atrial fibrillation.
Microlife AFIB Technology in Daily Medical Practice
One of the main advantages of AFIB technology is the ability to perform screening without additional burden on the doctor or patient.
During a standard blood pressure measurement, the monitor analyzes the pulse wave and can detect signs of atrial fibrillation that require further confirmation by ECG.
This approach allows:
- Increased detection of asymptomatic atrial fibrillation;
- Improved stroke prevention;
- Timely referral of patients for additional examination;
- Integration of screening into routine clinical practice.
Microlife — Technologies for Early Risk Detection
Participation in the conference of the All-Ukrainian Association of Cardiologists of Ukraine was an excellent opportunity for professional experience exchange and discussion of modern approaches to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Microlife continues to implement innovative solutions for blood pressure control and early detection of heart rhythm disorders, helping doctors and patients obtain more useful information with every measurement.
